What a day! We started the day connecting with Purity, our World Adventure Tours customer service coordinator and our guide Sammy. We first went to Lake Naivasha for a one-hour boat ride. We were able to see hippos, water burk, zebra, baboon, impala, thompson gazelle and a variety of native birds and witnessed an African eagle catching a fish in his talons.
After a wonderful lunch at the Crescent Lodge, we headed to Lake Nakuru National Park, which provided the opportunity to see giraffe, water buffalo, lion, hyena, and rhinoceros in the wild. It's amazing to be driving along on the very bumpy dirt road, then suddenly see a tower of giraffes feeding on the tree bark and greens, or group of water buffalo crossing the road. The zoo it is not!
The day wrapped up with dinner and an overnight stay at the Lake Nakuru lodge. Time to get ready to go at 7AM tomorrow for a local game drive then on to the Maasai Mara Preserve and more sights to see.
